Couples who avoid sex before marriage end up having happier, more stable relationships, and a better time in bed, according to psychologists.

Commenting on the results, US sociologist and "sexpert" Dr Mark Regnerus, from the University of Texas at Austin, said: "Couples who hit the honeymoon too early, that is, prioritise sex promptly at the outset of a relationship, often find their relationships underdeveloped when it comes to the qualities that make relationships stable and spouses reliable and trustworthy".

I find it astounding the number of negative comments posted on the SMH website regarding this article. People are so happy live in delusion and deception that they will actually stand up for what is wrong and call it good. These are probably the same people who will also quite happily call good, evil.

Same-sex parents, research shows, are significantly more egalitarian than heterosexual parents in the way they divide household tasks and parenting responsibilities.

The study (Work, Love and Play) found that compared with heterosexual parents, both same-sex parents are much more likely to be working part time. Only 6 per cent of Australian couples with children under the age of 15 have neither parent working full time, compared with 23 per cent of lesbian couples.

Perhaps because of the extraordinary effort gay people must go to to have children, spending time with them is a big priority for both parents, the study found.

So, now we have moved from "gay and lesbian families are just like heterosexual families", to "gay and lesbian families are better than heterosexual families". I find it absurd that the media is hell-bent on attacking and destroying "traditional" relationships. My son was recently a reindeer in a kindergarten nativity play. Over dinner, in a cautious whisper, he told us that the baby's name was a 'bad word'... my son thinks 'Jesus' is a curse, not the name of God's only begotten Son.

I'm not anti-religion, unless it's passed off as science, smuggled into education or used as a weapon of coercion.

But our family has no God or gods.

Australia's "appalling and greedy" super-wealthy people have come under fire for refusing to donate 20 per cent of their income to charity this Christmas.

Only Commonwealth CEO Sir Ralph Norris wrote back, telling the electronics baron he gives to charity privately.

"What's disgusting is there are some incredibly wealthy people around, people who are billionaires," Mr Smith told reporters at Sydney's Wayside Chapel for the homeless today.

"People who are worth well over a hundred million dollars - for some reason they don't give anything.
